Installing Spring On Assembly

Installing The Spring On The Assembly

Tools Required For This Repair

For this repair you will need a Philip head screwdriver and the medium sized Allen key provided in the box of your original order.

Step 1

Place your 3Style Scooter on a table or similar surface upside-down, this will allow you to have easy access to the bottom of the front of the scooter/steering column.

Step 2

Remove the two shank bolts located at the top going through the metal plate.

Step 3

Then remove the small screws which also go through the metal fender plate.

Step 4

Take off the metal fender plate.

Step 5

Remove the plastic guard.

Step 6

Pull the wheel shank axle off from the base and put these to one side.

Step 7

If the spring is stuck in your scooter, remove this as well. You can use one of your allen keys to gently ease this out.

Step 8

Once the spring has been removed, set aside the scooter for now and retrieve your wheel shank axle.

Step 9

Remove the one of the small screws from the metal plate on the spring assembly.

Step 10

Loosen the other screw slightly to enable you to rotate the metal plate, exposing the spring.

Step 11

Remove the remainder of the spring from the assembly. To help do this use a screwdriver or something similar to ease this out. This needs to be pulled out from the side with the metal plate.

Step 12

Once the remainder of the spring has been removed you can insert the new spring.
Push through the smaller end of the spring through the side of the assembly which had the metal plate on.

Step 13

The spring needs to be pushed in as far as possible so that it’s flush with the plastic spring assembly. You can pull and twist the spring to pull it further into the assembly.

Step 14

Next position the metal plate back over the spring and screw back in the small screw. Don’t forget to tighten up the screw that was loosened.

Step 15

Replace the wheel shank axle back onto the scooter making sure that the spring slots into the small hole under the scooters base.

Step 16

Put the plastic guard back into place.

Step 17

Position the metal plate back onto the scooter.

Step 18

Finally secure the shank bolts and small screws tightly into place.
